1. Pick a total of 31 celebrities from the categories shown on the list page including 3 "wild cards". For example: You could add Simon Cowell, Rod Stewart and Howard Stern for your three wild cards. The only rule in picking your wild card picks is that their date of birth must be 1/1/1924 or later when you pick them.
2. You get points for any celebrity who expires between January 1, 2014 and December 31, 2014. If one of your celebrities expires you get 100 points minus their age at the time they go. For example: You pick Mary Tyler Moore and she is 77, you would get 23 points. Boy George is 52, you would get 48 points. The only exception to this rule is celebrities over 95 years are all worth 5 points when they expire.
3. Check the standings regularly to see everyone's picks on the site and their current point totals. However every time you lose a celebrity from your team you may replace them with a new one from the same category thus keeping you at 30 celebrities at all time. You will have one week to e-mail me your added celebrity. Again if I receive your e-mail after your celebrity has expired you will get no points and have to pick another.
4. At the beginning of each year teams will be reset to allow movement to the Really Old Already category and one or more of your wild cards may be moved onto the list. Once a master list is generated for a new year teams will have until January 15th to either keep their present teams or pick all new celebrities. Celebrities will be randomly added to your team if there are any openings that have not been filled by then.
5. Remember this: Death is a part of life. We are all going to go at one time or another. Would you really want to live until 150 and not be able to move, speak or think properly? Certainly not. We here at the Celebrity Death Watch do not wish death on anyone. But it is going to happen. Unfortunately if you yourself expire playing the game then you get no points. Plus all your previous points won are taken away from you. That's reason enough to hang around right there!
